Mr Tom Bryden *



Tom joined the board in 2006 and is very involved representing the voice of people with sight loss in the community. He works closely with Newcastle University and has been governor of Queen Elizabeth Hospital Gateshead. Tom is a also a member of Blind Veterans. Tom was appointed Chair in 2015.
Sir Nigel has served as President of Sight Services since 2003. Appointed Lord-Lieutenant of the County of Tyne and Wear, December 2000 until 2015.

Frank joined the board in 2003. He is a past chairman of Gateshead Access Panel, is a guide dog owner and a speaker for guide dogs for the blind.
Dorothy joined the board in 2005 and represents people with sight loss on various forums in South Tyneside.

Mr Michael Collins *

Michael  joined the board in 2006 and before losing his sight worked in a supervisory/ managerial position in South Tyneside.
Alan joined the board in 2014. Alan is MD of Gateshead firm MPH, which helps companies reach people with disabilities through business-to-business training, guidance and communication.

Denise joined the board in 2013. Denise worked for RNIB for many years, supporting and encouraging local societies for people with sight loss.

Kath joined the Board in 2015.
Peter joined the board in 2012. He worked in local government (education) before losing his sight, is a champion for people with poor sight, and a trustee of RNIB.
